About writing

Here is a lovely quote by a writer from the 20th century, called Thomas Champness from the book ‘Thoughts for The Quiet Hour’

Even though the man is long gone, he offers good advice, which applies to all forms of writing; fiction, copywriting, blogposts and more:

About writing

“It is very sweet to note that a voice from heaven said to the apostle John, ‘Write.’ Does not that same voice come to us? Do we not hear the same cry? When we write about forgiveness or affection, undoubtedly there will be those who will taste the joys of heaven. Others will feel their present tears being wiped away by the touch of our pen. Isn’t that the goal in our writing? The question is always the same: are we adding joy to other men’s lives? If so, then angels may tune their harps when we sit at our desk. They are sent to minister to the heirs of salvation, and will be glad to look upon our pen as writing music for them to sing, because what we write makes their client’s joy to be full.”
